He made us work for it!

This little guy is so precious. He gave us a little bit of a hard time in the beginning, but I'm so glad we persevered! He is just a soft little guy who happens to be very hungry ;) What a blessing he and his brother and sister are to mom and dad. They are such a beautiful family.

This one is too funny. They look confused as to why the baby is crying. I love it though--look at those eyelashes on big brother and sister!

See...I told you they are a beautiful family!

smallest I've held in a while

I get a little nervous when I have a client ask to do their newborn pictures past the 10 day-old mark. This mommy had to have a c-section, and understandably wanted to schedule these a little further out. This little one was nearly 3 weeks old before I met her, but she still hadn't made it to her due date ;) My nervousness was gone as soon as I saw how tiny she was and how well she still curled up. As you can see she had no problems doing that. And when she finally showed me her eyes, I was shocked to see how much she looks like her momma already. What beautiful girls! This is one happy daddy!

Princess Leah

I loved this little one's nursery. The way the walls were painted looked like a princess crown in the pictures. A perfect theme for a little princess. What a doll.

Her grandmother made this lamp shade, and I thought it was adorable and very photogenic!

She must be dreaming about when the photographer-lady will leave her alone ;)

A little photoshop trickery...I'm posting the original to prove that the baby was safe with mom standing by! :)

Look who's one!

Remember this tiny baby? She's one now and just as sweet as she was as a newborn. Her mommy and I are really good friends, since the age of 4 or 5, so I photograph her any chance I get. My kids came with me this time since it was kind of unscheduled, and while we were moving furniture around my kids were feeding the baby bits of corn dog in the kitchen. You just can't trust a four year old like you used to! She really liked it I think, and luckily it was just the breading. Here is the corn dog eater:

She's just as perfect as can be. Love this shot.

Less is more!

I've got a few changes to announce. This year I'm really trying to spend more time with my family and less time in front of my computer (which is where I end up when I'm behind the lens a lot). I'm going to be doing less sessions, one per week. Period. I've always tried to do this in the past, but somehow I've always ended up spreading myself too thin in an effort to make my clients happy. So, if you are thinking about scheduling a session, don't wait too long, because they are limited.

Also (and this next point does not apply to newborn sessions), since I will be scheduling less sessions, I will be counting on the ones I do have scheduled not to cancel. For that reason, I have changed the session fee policy, which is now reflected on my website. Basically the session fee will be paid up front rather than on the day of our session. If I haven't received the payment 7 days after you've booked the session, then I will give your date to someone else. The session fee is transferable if we have to reschedule, but it will not be refunded.

So here's to me spending more time with these beauties!
