Spunky

I don't know if there's a better word to describe these two. I love me some kids with personality! :) They were both making me laugh; he sure did love that dog of his, and she just loved the camera!

Here he is being a little shy at first, although I wasn't fooled!

A perfect day

Today started about as good as it possibly could have. We just got the kids a dog this weekend, and they got attached right away (as did my husband and I). A really good dog too--loves to be loved, petted, scratched, etc. Well it ran away yesterday. We looked everywhere for it. I guess our 10 acres wasn't enough for her, because she wasn't anywhere around here. My little girl's was heartbroken, and this morning we hoped to find her in the garage; we left the door open for her all night. No such luck. Then when we least expected it, my daughter opened the door to go outside, and a FILTHY half wet/half frozen dog trampled her and licked her to pieces. We were thrilled that she found her way home. A trip to the groomer was in order (which is kind of silly since she isn't allowed inside our house anyway and will probably return to her dirty state shortly), but we are just thrilled to have her back.

And my day is ending about as good as it started. Editing this session has been a pleasure, as it always is with these two beautiful girls that I get to see a few times a year :)

I let my kids come out of the house at the end of this session, and their sweet mommy let my daughter wear her coat, because she had left hers back in the house. I looked over and saw my daughter and the younger sister hugging, so I just snapped it as quickly as I could without holding it up to my eye (completely blind). A miracle it is actually in focus!

Grandparents

I really look forward to being a grandparent. Since I had my first, I've always wondered how that would feel to watch my daughter or my son become a parent. And I wonder how that love you feel for that child compares to the love you feel for your own child. It has to be so great, because the grandparents I know are crazy head over heels in love with their grandkids. I can't imagine loving a child as much as I love my two right now, but maybe I'll be surprised. This family was a pleasure to work with, and just another example of grandparents who are crazy in love with their grandchildren.

Remember jumping Jada from my opening slideshow on my website? She's just as beautiful as ever! And she has a REALLY cute and well behaved little brother and a new baby cousin that she's just smitten with.

Golden

The weather a few weeks ago was so perfect, and these pictures make me miss it! Little miss was enjoying it too. She was loving being outside and playing in the beautiful fall weather, even if it was a little windy :) I loved the golden grass in this field, but it was so windy, just about everyone was eating their hair. So we had to seek some tree shelter.
