something {sort of} new!

Since newborns are my favorite clients, I've decided to market more towards them. Therefore I've built another website (just like the other one but a little different) housing nothing but newborns! So check it out: just go to my site and click on the picture of the newborn.

Oh, and a recent favorite. I don't photograph many seniors...lots of reasons why...but I took on just one this spring. She is such a sweet girl, and part of what made me agree to photograph her was the fact that she wanted to look like she normally does. I think too often senior pictures end up looking like a completely different person, but these are true to her.

the change

No I'm not talking about the change that every woman dreads! I'm talking about when a baby turns one and suddenly they look more like big boys and girls rather than babies in their pictures. I have had so many parents of one year olds comment on how much of a big boy/girl their toddler looks at one year. It's tough to say goodbye to the baby stage, but every stage just seems to get more and more enjoyable. Here are a few from a few weeks ago.

baby dimples

This little sweetie reminded me so much of my little girl at one year. Their personalities were similar, but mostly it was their arm rolls! I love me a chubby baby. And if they have dimples at the knuckles, that's just icing on the cake.







So many more I want to share, and this is really hard for me (I like to share), but have to save some for mom and dad.

The hardest part of this shoot began when I got home and had to decide which pictures I was going to toss and which ones to show mom and dad. He was such a good little sport and let us do so many things with him!

so nice to be back outside

I love this family, and I really love to photograph them. Mom is hip, dresses cool, but best of all she knows her girls inside and out. She wants me to capture them just how they are, even if it means goofy faces. One of them is laid back and just goes with the flow; one of them is mischievous and goofs around most of the time; one of them is cautious and careful. I think it's pretty easy to tell which one is which...at least the mischievous one! She's the one in black.

I can't keep this session under wraps. This little girl and her cousin were extremely adorable. Little miss has her first birthday coming up, and I'm saving the best pictures of her for later...but here are just a few. This dog is singing along with the little guy. Seriously, it was nuts!



This one screams Easter. Oh how I love little girls in dresses! She was even more adorable nakey, but I can't spoil it.

...for the sake of not losing my audience (however small that may be!) This little girl was 5 days old and cooperative as can be. Even though she is no blood relation of mine, she is my "niece" and I love her to pieces.
