just a little calm man

Last week was hectic and busy with 4 sessions, 3 of which were beautiful sleepy newborns. I'm really excited to get to all of them, but here is the first of them, just because I don't think mom and dad will be checking the blog ;) I'll post the rest as soon as they have seen them all. :)

This little guy was so easy. Just as calm as could be, awake or asleep.







Some people specifically ask me not to get the belly button in the pictures. I personally love the newness of the belly button when the cord hasn't fallen off yet. What a great reminder of the baby being completely dependent on the mother and that not much has changed! ;)



I think he's showing me a certain finger here AND he's smiling about it!

She's grown a lot!












And now she's a big sister!! Her brother is equally adorable.

creamy skin

This baby had the creamiest skin and was so much fun to cuddle. I'm glad I can finally share them now that mom has seen them all! :)













If you're wondering where the awake shots are, we didn't get any! :) He was a really good subject though, and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to photograph him.

snakes!

I think the thing I will remember most about this session was when little M and I put down the camera, took off our shoes, and went out in the wet grass to run off some energy. Well, she had energy to run off and after I ran mine off there was nothing left. While we were out there we were pretending to run away from snakes (not my idea). She was cracking me up; those snakes were everywhere. She also insisted on going down her wet slide at 90 mph! After a few times I had to put a stop to that for fear of a lawsuit! :) Meanwhile, mom was getting her baby sister fed and when she was done, we got some really great stuff!





Usually the older sibling teaches the younger sibling bad things. I think this is a little opposite!

way overdue

I'm about 4 sessions behind in posting to my blog. I'm the worst blogger ever, and even worse at doing my laundry! :) Here is one who is probably holding her head up by now, and her mommy and daddy probably already have their prints hung on their wall! She was the sweetest little thing--fought sleep like crazy too. Finally she did go to sleep, but it was short-lived!

something {sort of} new!

Since newborns are my favorite clients, I've decided to market more towards them. Therefore I've built another website (just like the other one but a little different) housing nothing but newborns! So check it out: just go to my site and click on the picture of the newborn.

Oh, and a recent favorite. I don't photograph many seniors...lots of reasons why...but I took on just one this spring. She is such a sweet girl, and part of what made me agree to photograph her was the fact that she wanted to look like she normally does. I think too often senior pictures end up looking like a completely different person, but these are true to her.

the change

No I'm not talking about the change that every woman dreads! I'm talking about when a baby turns one and suddenly they look more like big boys and girls rather than babies in their pictures. I have had so many parents of one year olds comment on how much of a big boy/girl their toddler looks at one year. It's tough to say goodbye to the baby stage, but every stage just seems to get more and more enjoyable. Here are a few from a few weeks ago.
