Terrible two's aren't so terrible afterall

I had such a good time with this family. The sweet seven-day old baby girl was laid back and so willing. And despite having just woke up from his long nap, the little guy (age 2) was playful and sweet. After we played together for a bit, he warmed up and let me get a few pictures of him just before we played in the snow together (without the camera...sorry) :)

I get giddy anytime I have eye contact from a newborn! :) It's nothing short of a miracle if they are awake and not crying, and I don't think they can see very well, so it's really hard to get them to look at you. Anytime it happens it's nothing I did, except that I lucked out. Love this last one.

February is good for something.

I'm really starting to despise the cold weather and snow, but being inside has one perk. I've had a chance to catch up on some things. Among them is part 2 of this senior's session. She wanted some summer pictures, which I've already posted (click here), and she also wanted some from the fall. We headed to beautiful covered bridge country near Rockville, IN. We had a great night and a great time too!

And so did I! When I first got there and started taking her picture, we kept trying to get her to play with her feet. She was not going to do it on our terms, but then her mom stepped out of the room, and she went to town on those piggies--sucking on them like she had never been fed! I love it. You may remember her from this session about 6 months ago. Gorgeous then, and gorgeous now. Such a beautiful family. And just as nice as they can be.









We were not at a loss for closeups! :)

dainty little hands

I think it's amazing how girls and boys are so different right from birth (barring the obvious). The way they hold themselves, their noises, even their hands. I just love little girl hands; so dainty and pretty. This little girl had really precious hands, and everything else about her was equally precious. Her nursery was so perfect as well, complete with lots of lady bugs :)

just a few more

...since mom and dad have seen them all now. These are from my last newborn session. Lots of people have asked where I get my hats, blankets, etc. This mom had bought a bunch of hats (including the bear hat) on etsy in hopes of using them on baby Kason. I also have bought hats on etsy. I also have a friend who is a whiz when it comes to this stuff, so she has made me some hats and blankets as well. But the green blanket used in these I got for Christmas from my mother-in-law; I was drooling over it when she and I went shopping the day after Thanksgiving, but I held back because I was trying to be good. To my surprise she had gone back to get it for me!

Kason

This little guy was about as laid back as any baby I've ever seen. He was just ready to be molded into any position while he slept the day away. And he has a name that I'd not heard of, so kudos to mom and dad for choosing something so unique!













My husband thinks this is awesome...men are so funny. Dad's two great loves--a son and football.

This little guy is very loved by his older brother. It's so neat to see the babies turn into older siblings. He was keeping an eye on me while I was photographing baby bro to make sure I wasn't there to take him away...I didn't although it was tempting! :)
