Amidst a move

Having just gone through it myself, I know how stressful moving can be, especially with kids. This family took a break from the packing to get some family pictures taken. Trust me, mom is hiding her stress and did a great job doing it! :) I hope your move went well and you are settling in nicely.

They let them be.

This family was fantastic to work with. The parents didn't have high expectations of their kids just sitting still for me while I took their pictures. They let them play, and I didn't see any frustration coming from them; they seemed to know that kids will be kids, and that's what I loved. And I'm thrilled with all of the interaction that we got!

This sweetheart was so alert I thought she was going to start talking to me. She really seemed to know what was going on, and such a pretty little thing too :)











She did sleep for a little while :)

I knew it

I've got enough experience to know that if I cancel a session due to rain, at the last minute, it will end up being the most beautiful sunset I've seen in a while, and instead of photographing a family in front of it I watch it from home. It never fails, so this time I waited it out. It was still not looking promising as I walked into this beautiful family's home, but after we were done with our inside shots, sure enough! It was another gorgeous evening! So glad we didn't call it off! These two kids were two of the most well-behaved I've ever photographed. Loved them!

Just fun.

This session makes me smile from ear to ear when I look at the images. Little sister was hamming it up for the camera and is so outgoing and looks just like her dad. Big sister is shy, timid, and looks just like her mom. And she wanted nothing but for her daddy to hold her. So I asked him to step away while I took her in my arms and talked to her for a little while. While he was gone we got some great stuff of her. Later he teased about his "time out" and that's still making me laugh. What a great time we had, and what a beautiful family!

sweet boy

This little guy is so sweet and I think you can see it all over his face :) He was also a very busy and active little guy which made things very fun.
