a man's man

This session was so crazy. Seniors aren't normally my favorite. Such an awkward thing for a teenager, to be stuck in front of a camera because their mom is making them. However this one was so much fun for me, and I'm not just saying that because this is my blog. What a personality this one had! Just a really funny guy, and by guy I mean the spitting, get dirty, go fishing, play football, let me wear my camo for this picture, hit on the ladies as they walk by kind of guy. I'm reluctant to post any of these, because he won't get to see them all until after this weekend, and I hate to spoil any, but I've made him wait long enough. Thanks for making me laugh!

I had to beg him to stop talking to a passer-by (who happened to be a cute girl) so I could get him looking at the camera.


I wasn't super excited about this cut-off shirt, and he already knows this so I'm not being mean. But man it is so him! Gotta love that he wants to be himself. When I showed him this after I took it, he said, "Bass Pro Shops is going to be asking if I'll model for them."



He was very proud of this shirt too.




We did talk him into some other shirts, and while he was changing them, he would say something like, "everyone is looking at me and they are so jealous." :)

Is it legal...

to have a family this beautiful?!! Or to post this many pictures of one session?











What can I say...I loved this pose and couldn't pick a favorite...I think the baby liked it too!!!

water wars

This session had two parts. First we took the pretty pictures..you know..the family shots, the kids together, the kids individually. You can see those later. But tonight I wanted to share these.

It started out innocent enough...





And then it turned very wet. This was on that freakishly cold Sunday evening we had a few weeks ago--these kids aren't faking the shock of that water! Nor are they faking the fun they had playing in it!

I'll kiss my dog but not my brother!

The mother of this household has been so kind to me, so it's good to see that good things do happen to good people. Look at this beautiful family she has! The relationship between the kids is funny...I could tell that she was crazy about him, but she wouldn't kiss him on the cheek for me ;) They really love their pets too, so we got plenty of them together. I didn't have to ask for dog smooches--they came naturally! :)



I didn't ask the dog to do this either.





Such a beautiful natural smile for a kid his age! Usually they feel so awkward in front of the camera at this age, but he was great.









And my personal favorite: I love the colors in this one. I'm not sure who picked the color of her shirt but it's my favorite color for outdoor summer shots!

it's a good thing...

...this little guy was such a good boy, because it started raining about 1/2 hour into our session. I think it was my quickest session yet, and we got some really good shots. Funny how that works--sometimes it takes a long time, and sometimes it's just that easy.

Some mommy lovin'....

not so tiny

This little guy weighed 11 pounds at birth and was two weeks early! For his mommy's sake I'm glad he didn't make it to his due date. I can't imagine what her poor body went through! But what a beautiful baby he is.



The look on her face here reminds me of every young child who thinks their baby brother or sister will be able to come home and play with them, only to see them do this all day long! :)







Hello! I'm 11 pounds! Please get me out of this swaddle! :)



We had such a dark and dreary day for these...remember how gross it was the day after Independence Day? I actually went to their house in the morning and came back in the evening in hopes of getting some better light. No such luck--however, when in front of a window the lighting was really beautiful!



I thought it was so funny that he curled his toes up like this!



Hard to believe this tiny hand is connected to an 11 pound baby.



He was already 4 weeks old by the time I got to meet him, so he wasn't super curled up, but he slept like a champ! Such a calm little fella!
